So What Are You Going To Do?

Just over a year ago I had two of my all time best friends visiting Kate and I, and we took a day trip over to Swanage to take them on one of our favourite walks to Durlston Castle.
As we got there, we walked past an engraved stone quote which we had never noticed before. It said:
"What will you do now with the gift of your left life?"
And I think it's fair to say that it resonated with all of us, because we've all gone through a lot of positive change since that day.
It was one of those moments where something profound just appears at the right time to really hit home and strike a chord.
And I hope the quote resonates with you as well, because all being well, there is a lot of life left for us all, and it is truly a gift. Time is the most valuable commodity in our lives and how we spend it will do more to our quality of life than anything else.
And what you do with your time is your choice.
But the key part of it all for me is the word "now".
The gift of your left life is the future, and what you decide you want to do with it is an intangible thought... but the now brings action and makes it all real.
Action is the only thing that will make those thoughts a reality.
And now is more often than not the best option for when to take that action.
You should strike while the iron is hot. When you have a thought or idea that excites you, and you believe it will make you life better, just do it.
Make the change. Say the words. Take the step forward.
And this is a lot bigger than the gym or fitness... it can be as big as you can dream it, but the gym can be a great starting point for people to realise how quickly things can change.
The simple decision to sign-up and get started can quickly lead to a rewarding process.
Feeling stronger. Seeing your body change. Having more energy. Sleeping better. Building a better routine. Eating better. Wanting more. Better moods. Increased confidence.
These are all things that can change in a matter of weeks, and I've seen it help a lot people realise that they can change. That they can take more control. That they can become more. That they can take the same principles learned in the gym and apply them to other key areas of their lives.
So what are you going to do?
And more importantly... when are you going to do it?
Thanks,
Ian.
